Welcome to the Benet Academy Orchesis Dance Company Website! We are glad you are here and are as interested in pursuing dance in high school as we all are! Here are a couple points of focus we’d like you to see so you’re able to schedule in your busy lives when is happening in the Benet Academy Orchesis dance world.

Informational Meeting: April 29, 2026 at 7:00pm on Zoom (Link Here!)

Auditions: May 2, 2026 from 1:30-4:30pm in St. Daniels Hall

Company Eligibility:

·         Freshman through senior Benet Academy students during the 2026-2027 academic year

·         Open to males and females

·         Academic Eligibility

·         Can attend regularly scheduled rehearsals and performances

·         Dance background recommended (“willingness to learn” goes a long way!!)

·         Completed audition packet (Please, click here!)

Weekly Time Commitment: (not every dancer is present at every rehearsal or performance)

·         Rehearsals are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15pm to 5:15pm from August through November.

·         November-Tech week for our Showcase will be November 16, 17, 18, and 19 with Showcase November 20, 21, and 22nd. 

Summer Time Commitment: 

·         August 3-7 from 9:00am to 12:00pm Dance Intensive (Click here to register)

·         August 6 & 7th from 12:30pm- 3:00pm LEARNING OPENER AND CLOSER

Financial Commitment:

·         Dancers are responsible for small costume pieces, shoes and an activity fee.

Choreography Auditions:

·         Dancers placed in Red, Black, or Gray companies have the opportunity to audition choreography. Dancers placed in Red company may choreograph dances on their own, dancers placed in Black or Gray companies must choreograph with a partner. Choreographers must have the entire piece choreographed as well as a clear vision as to what he/she would like the piece to look like. Because the goal of the company is to share a wide variety of dance styles and achievable ability levels, not every dance is chosen. The chosen dances will be notified as soon as possible so choreographers can continue to grow their dances. If interested and able, please fill out and upload dances to this form!
